Bangi, 25 July 2022 – JAZRO has announced that the first ever Karnival Robotik held at Evo Mall Shopping Complex in Bangi from 16 to 17 July received an overwhelming response when it recorded 630 registered participants, including groups of students from five local schools.
The event aimed at creating awareness about robotics among children ages 7 to 17, and was organized by JAZRO and Evo Mall. It is estimated that around 2,000 visitors, including parents and individuals, came to the event.
The inaugural carnival impressed Yang Berhormat Dr. Ong Kian Ming, Member of Parliament for Bangi, who was present as the guest of honor at the closing ceremony.
Dr. Ong applauded the event organizers for their initiative. He hoped for similar events in the future, particularly ones that would bring an opportunity for children from B40 families to learn about robotics.
Ir. Dzulfarqeish Zainuddin, Co-Founder of JAZRO, says, “We wanted to bring children closer to digital technology by providing them with hands-on activities. We made the learning process enjoyable, and this approach worked well with the children participating in competitions, workshops, and other activities during Karnival Robotik. We are thrilled with the positive response.”
Meanwhile, Mohd Fauzi Ibni Hajar, CEO of Evo Mall, states, “We are blessed to have partnered a group of talented young professionals in JAZRO, who have helped Evo Mall team to organize a very successful event. Looking at this overwhelming reception from the neighborhood communities, we believe that this kind of event should be held more often in line with our mission to become a ‘community friendly mall’. We know that we are able to cater the needs of Bangi population in particular to hold any education and family-oriented events at our premise.”
In addition to participating in various robotics workshops and competitions, the children, teachers, and parents also enjoyed exhibitions held by D’Virtual Park, MDEC, MyTutor, PETROSAINS, Pickiddo, and Project Mika.
JAZRO, headquartered in Terengganu, is already discussing with at least five potential partners in Klang Valley to organize similar events in the future.
“Thanks to Karnival Robotik Bangi, we are inspired to organize similar events to foster greater awareness about robotics among children, including those from B40 families, going forward,” Ir. Dzulfarqeish explained.
