Johnny Depp Donates Proceeds From NFT Sale To Charity Linked With Amber Heard

The proceeds from an NFT (non-fungible token) sale were recently donated to a charity associated with Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard.

According to a social media post, Mr. Depp's Never Fear Truth NFT raised nearly $80,000 in total donations, which were split among four organisations: the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, The Footprint Coalition, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles is the only one with ties to Ms Heard.

The Aquaman star stated in 2016 that her $7 million divorce settlement would be split between two charities, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). However, it was revealed during the recent defamation trial that Ms Heard had failed to do so.

New trial

Ms Heard's attorneys asked a Fairfax County Circuit Court judge to set aside the verdict against her or order a new trial after she lost the defamation trial against Mr Depp. Earlier this month, it was reported that Ms Heard's defence team argued that the $10 million awards were excessive. They even disputed Mr Depp's claim that Ms Heard's comments in an op-ed cost him his role in 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' They also claimed that at least one juror had not been subjected to the required screening by court personnel.
