The International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia 2022 (IGEM) will be held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 12 to 14 October 2022. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) and co-organised by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), it continues to be the leading trade event for green technologies and eco solutions.

This year's theme is Race towards Net Zero: Fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Commitments.

The event will feature green energy organisations, businesses, and suppliers showcasing their most recent innovations in the green economy landscape. In addition, there will be sharing sessions led by distinguished field experts, business matching sessions, and educational series to increase public awareness of the nation's goal to become carbon neutral by 2050.

Accelerating The Digital Economy Must Be A collective Effort
Accelerating Digital Economy requires all core stakeholders: Consumers, business and governments to think digital-first for developing new products, services or business models.

The main issues that will be in focus this year are empowering cities, electrifying mobility, decarbonising energy, and accelerating circularity.

With nearly 300 booths occupied, the event is expected to receive 30,000 visitors and RM3 Bil investment prospects. It will bring representatives from 30 countries, including Taiwan, China, the Netherlands, Canada, Korea, Singapore, and Austria. There will also be 17 conference sessions featuring 30 conference speakers and ten conference partners.

Visitors can look forward to roundtable discussions, exhibitions, one-on-one consultations, product launches, and collaboration agreements during the three-day event. There will be opportunities to network with established event partners and collaborators on various topics, including climate change, hydrogen technologies, science innovation, low-carbon cities, circular economy, water waste, energy efficiency, green practices, and incentives.

"IGEM is a government initiative to safeguard our resources, people's livelihood, and the economy in the face of a changing climate. As we manoeuvre in the post-pandemic landscape, we must adapt to new challenges and find environmentally friendly solutions for the country's long-term development. We hope the knowledge this initiative shares will benefit everyone, including the general public, as we find the balance between human activity and nature to build a sustainable future," said Ts. Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor, Chief Executive Officer of MGTC.

Known as the leading trade event for green technologies and eco solutions, IGEM has successfully generated approximately RM30 billion in business leads since its inception in 2010. Over 500,000 individuals have attended IGEM, including delegates, dignitaries, and businesses from more than 70 nations.
