The Malaysian Government's recent allocation of RM10 million to the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) and the implementation of a "kill switch" policy by Bank Negara demonstrate their commitment to enhancing cybersecurity measures in the country.

"With the rise of sophisticated cyber threats and attacks on organisations, it is crucial for businesses and consumers to recognise fraudulent activities and take appropriate action to prevent falling prey to online scams," says Sandra Lee, Managing Director, Southeast Asia & Korea, Sophos.

As Malaysia focuses on digital transformation and develops its digital economy, cybersecurity is a crucial component that cannot be overlooked. Governments, businesses and industries around the world are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of cybersecurity on the economy.
